Key Responsibilities Under the guidance of a Medical Laboratory Technologist or Molecular Specialist, manual or partially-automated set up of real-time PCR/LAMP, including preparation of primer and probe stocks, and sequencing. Manual or automated extraction of nucleic acids on high throughput platforms as assigned. Operation of real-time thermalcycler, extraction platforms, sequencing platform, and automated and non-automated liquid handling platforms. Real-time PCR/LAMP data analysis using vendor thermocycling software, miniPCR or other assigned equipment. Technical support for validation or evaluation studies under the direction of the manager, team lead, MLT or molecular specialist. Knowledge and Skills Strong understanding molecular theory and best practices including real-time PCR/LAMP, nucleic acid extraction, molecular workflows, primer and probe dilution calculation and preparation. Experience with standard molecular lab applications and instrumentation (e.g. DNA extraction, pipetting, PCR/LAMP set up, sequencing an asset). Familiarity with general laboratory equipment including centrifuges, incubators, pipettors, automated liquid handlers, incubators, biological safety cabinets.     ClearMe Inc. is currently seeking Registered Nurses (RN) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) to join us the fight against COVID-19 in large and small communities across Canada. ClearMe offers on-site COVID-19 specimen collection throughout and require qualified professionals to perform nasopharyngeal, oral Pharyngeal and sputum specimen collection of individuals (both symptomatic and asymptomatic) that are being tested for COVID-19. Testing is offered for both ambulatory clients and clients presenting for testing within remote medical rooms. This position is part of the ASPDX ClearMe™ Covid-19 response. In order to be able to respond to the evolving/changing needs related to the Covid-19 pandemic, you may be cross-trained to enable reassignment to other Covid-19 response areas as the needs arise. ​ Job Description: The collection technician supports infectious disease testing and prevention from a population health lens. Working as a member of an interdisciplinary team, staff prepare, test clients, document, and finalize tested samples for the lab. Under the guidance of our Medical Director, the role adheres to ASPDX ClearMe™ documentation guidelines and lab testing policy, procedures, and standards. As the appropriate use of full Personal Protective Equipment (masks, gowns, gloves, eye protection) is also required to perform testing, the staff must adhere to all ASPDX ClearMe™ Infection, Prevention and Control requirements, guidelines, and practices and are required to take continued precautions wherever required, including at break and meal times.
